Washer Assistance

I have a frigidaire model # FEX831CO. The washer stopped going into drain, spin cycle. It fills, aggetates normaly. I turned the control dial through all cycles but have the same problem in all selections. What is my first place to check? I'm guessing the control dial may be the proble since it stops advancing unless turned manually.
