Washer Will Not Final Spin, Can I Reprogram?

my Frig front load washer, approx 12 years old, has begun to skip the final spin cycle. The first time it happened, I assumed it was an out of balance issue, and I removed one item, selected drain/spin and it worked. Following this episode the machine worked fine for a few washes in the Normal setting and now skips the final spin and perhaps the rinse cycle each time no matter which setting is selected. I assume the control board either needs replacing or possibly reprogramming. If my assumption is correct, where can I learn to reprogram the control board myself. Thank Yo
