I Have A Stackable Washer/dryer And The Agitator Basket Has Come Lose

I have a stackable washer.dryer unit and the agitator basket has come lose.  It moves all around,is there a way to reattach it?  There is a smell coming from the motor area.  Not sure if they are related, but believe they are.
