Water Level

The water level does not seem to be high enough. Had to cut back on washing soap and have to constantly clean dishes after wash. We don't have hard water but there is always a white film on the inside. How high should the water be and is there an adjustment?

Hi bconrad – Hard water is the primary reason to cause white film. However, since you have confirmed that you do not have hard water, then the water temperature may be too low to dissolve the detergent. Generally speaking, dishwashers require the water inside the unit tank to be 120°F to perform properly. Best way to ensure this happens is to run the sink faucet until the water comes out hot before the dishwasher is turned on. This will ensure that hot, 120°F water goes directly into the dishwasher when it starts to fill. When checking dishwashing detergent boxes and with detergent manufacturers, the compounds in the detergent need water temperatures to be between 125°F - 140°F to dissolve in the dishwasher. The water pressure should be 20-120 psi (pounds per square inch). If it is too low, I recommend reaching out to a plumber to check it. Also the rinse aid dispenser should be checked and filled about once a month depending on the number of washes you do in a month. Not using a rinse aid may cause dishes to be cloudy. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.
