My Refrigerator Not Making Ice

Here are a few troubleshooting tips to help discover why your refrigerator may not be producing ice:
- First be sure to make sure that your ice maker is turned on. When you changed the filter, you may have inadvertently left the ice maker off.
- Check your freezer temperature setting. If the freezer temperature is set too warm, turn your freezer control to a higher setting so that ice cubes will be made. When your first supply of ice has made, your dispenser should operate. (Allow sufficient time for the ice to be made - about 24 hours.)
- Is water going to the water valve on the refrigerator? Check your household water-line valve and make sure it is open. If it is not completely open, ice could be too small and jam the ice maker.
- Since you have already had to replace the filter in your unit, that tells me that you may have hard water. The harder the water you have, the faster the filter can become clogged. Your hard water level can be checked by contacting your local water company or picking up a hard water test kit at a local hardware store. 12 grains of water hardness is considered normal.
If you have taken checked all of the above and your refrigerator still does not make any ice, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer to determine if there could be any other issues that may have been missed. With your unit being only 3 months old, your unit should be covered under warranty.
Hope this helps!
