Use Only The Washer Half Of Combo. Can I Use 110 Cord?

The dryer in the top half of the combo is dead. No hope of resurrecting it. The washer lower half motor runs on 110, so could I disconnect the 220 cord and add a 110 cord and use a normal outlet for power?
