Dipped Beam Fault

I have a 2012 Ford Focus hatchback SEL.I get the Dipped Beam Fault Error. the front passenger side headlight was out So I replaced it. it still didn't work, and the plug was also burnt and melted a bit. I brought it to a shop and they replaced the plug and it still didn't work, so they tested the headlight unit not connected to the car and it works.Where could the issue be?

If both are going out then there could be an intermittent short which will make the current monitoring on the dip beams shut off supply until fault is cleared.

Could also be a loose connection but if both are going out, then that could mean the loose connection is actually inside the central junction box where the two lights common up.

You could also check that all the plug/connectors are fully inserted and locked on the CJB too.
