Dies Frequently And Rstarts Right Away Then Give Gas And Acts Like It Flood Out.

I have a 01 windstar lx with 235000 its is as clean as the day it hit thee showroom floor.it takes 3 -4 cranks to kick over. When it doesn't fire it my rrun fir a src and die and release a last gasp of air. Once started idels ok. Then driving first excellerate flutters almost chocking itself the release thegas pedal and the engine surges. Slowly building ppressure until whaat seems to be normal until removal of excelleratiom or turning a corner and just dies dropping into nuetral and restarting . Plrase help
