Confused

i received a notice on facebook that i needed to change my security settings or my account would be canceled. it says to click the add below and choose to keep receiving adds or to oppt out receiving adds. when i click the add below it opens a new window and has me download some kind of download manager. i uninstalled it right away but i don't want my account canceled and it said it would be canceled by facebook admin. what do i need to do?

It sounds like a scam to me. I highly doubt the message is from Facebook. I would just ignore it.
