Can I upgrade my nx415 so I can use airprint with my ipad4?

According to Cnet, your Epson NX415 does not have a wireless feature which makes it not capable for AirPrinting technology. Unfortunately, there is no way to upgrade your printer to make it wireless. I suggest that you better purchase a wireless capable printer.
