Self-cleaning Trouble

I have the electrolux single wall oven (ser#NF01126084).  I'm following the instruction for the self cleaning option. As soon as you hit the "clean" button "remove racks" flashes.  No matter what I do it will not stop flashing or let me start the cleaning cycle.

First of all I'm going to ask, did you remove the racks and restart the cycle?

Second, there are much easier and more eco friendly ways to clean an oven than to use the self clean option which heats up the house, ties up the oven for hours on end.  A razor blade, some steel wool, vinegar, baking soda. That oven could be cleaned in an hour or less and the house won't smell like  burnt food for days.
