Dynex Dx-dvd2
Mine is just under a year old and it refuses to read discs. Anything I can do,without having to buy a new one?

Dynex is the in-house "generic" brand for Best Buy. You can have it serviced there but the repair cost may exceed the replacement cost. I would take it to a Best Buy and see what they say. If you have the invoice they may still honor the warranty.
