Letratag 100h, Tape Jam Error Message

I purchased a LetraTag 100H today. When I tried using it and then print I receive an error message "Tape Jam". I have removed and reinserted the tape numerous times, and continue to receive this message. What can I do to resolve this issue?

Dymo's instructions (as you may know) are:
  1. Remove jammed label; replace label cassette.
  2. Clean cutter blade.

You indicate that this is your first use, in which case point 2 should not apply. Perhaps your sample is defective, in which case you should return it if possible.
