Hi there Rickdy, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to assist you today. The channel your television needs to be on in order to receiver signal from your DISH receiver would actually depend on what type of cable is being used to connect the receiver to the Tv. If the Tv is in the same room with the receiver (and you have an HD receiver & Tv) most likely the receiver is connected to the Tv through HDMI cable. If so, the TV needs to be on HDMI Input/Source in order to receive a picture. If the Tv is connected to the receiver through Coax cable then the Tv needs to be on channel 3 in order to get a picture. If they are connected through RCA cables your Tv must be on Video 1 input or Video 2. If you are asking about the second Tv which does not have the receiver in the same room, that Tv must be on channel 60 or 73. You will verify this by pressing 'Menu' on remote #1 from the 'Menu' screen select option 6 for 'System Setup' then option 1 for 'Installation' and then select option 5 for 'Modulator Setup' On the Modulator Setup screen where it says: 'Tv 2 Out' under channel, what channel number do you see? Whatever the number is (usually is 60 or 73) leave this screen up, put remote #1 aside, go to Tv 2, and using the channel up & down button on the TV itself, set the Tv to the channel # that was on the Modulator Setup screen for TV 2. If it was 60 then set the Tv to channel 60. If you get a picture, grab remote #2 and press the SAT button located at the top of the remote one time.
