Hello there, this is Cheri Torres with DISH Network customer service. I came across your question and wanted to see if I could help. The first thing that you are going to want to do is go to this website www.tech.dishnetwork.com. When you are on this website you will have an option to select the type of receiver you have. The model number for you receiver will be located on the front left side of the DISH Network receiver box. Once you select your receiver, on the left hand side of the screen you should see install. Under the install tab you will see a separate tab that is listed, with VCR and without VCR. For your particular scenario you are going to choose with VCR, even though you’re working with a DVD player. Then there is a spot where you can choose the kind of cables you will be using. There are three different types, RCA (red white and yellow), coax (black cable with silver metal end, and S-video (black cable no silver end). Once you select the type of cable your using you will see a detailed diagram of how to install your DVD player to your DISH Network receiver box. I hope this information helps.
