Hi, my name is Cheri Torres and I am with DISH Network customer service. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. I would like to provide you with a detailed wiring diagram so that you will be able to physically see exactly where the cabling will go. The first step would be to go to this website www.tech.dishnetwork.com. Once you are in this website you will notice on the left side of the screen receiver and remotes (for your particular situation select receivers). After selecting receivers you will want to select the model of receiver that you have. The model number of your receiver will be on the front left side of your receiver box. On the left side of your screen you will see an install tab, at the bottom of the list you will see “with VCR” and “without VCR”. For your install you are going to want to look at the “with VCR” option, even though you are using a DVD player. Next, you will need to choose the type of cabling you’re using. There are three main types of cables coax (black with silver end), RCA (red, white, and yellow), and S-video (black with no silver end). Once you have chosen your correct cabling you will see a detailed wiring diagram showing you how to hook up your DVD player to your DISH receiver. I hope you find this information useful. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to post back here or email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to help. :)
