Hello, my name is Cheri Torres and I am with DISH Network's customer service. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. If you are trying to hook up your DVD player to your DISH Network receiver box you’re first going to want to go to www.Tech.Dishnetwork.com. When you are on this website you will have an option to select the type of receiver you have. The model number for you receiver will be located on the front left side of the DISH Network receiver box. Once you select your receiver, on the left hand side of the screen you should see install. Under the install tab you will see a separate tab that is listed, with VCR and without VCR. For your particular scenario you are going to choose with VCR, even though you’re working with a DVD player.  Then there is a spot where you can choose the kind of cables you will be using. There are three different types of cables, RCA (red white and yellow), coax (black cable with silver metal end), and S-video (black cable no silver end). Once you select the type of cable your using you will see a detailed diagram of how to install your DVD player to your DISH Network receiver box. I hope this information helps. If you have any further questions please feel free to post back here or you can email me at [email protected]. :)
