Latitude E6430 How To Turn On Internal Microphone

The Latitude E6430 has settings in the BIOS to enable/disable "Microphone" and "Internal Microphone". Check under Miscellaneous Devices to make sure those are enabled. To enter the BIOS setup:

Restart the laptop. When the blue DELL logo is displayed, watch for the F2 prompt to appear.

Once the F2 prompt appears, press <F2> immediately.

If you press <F2> before you are prompted, this keystroke will be lost. If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft Windows desktop. Then try again. Or optionally you can get into the BIOS setup from the Boot Menu <F12>.
