Battery Won't Charge At All

battery won't charge. what do i do

It could be one of three things: the battery, the charger/AC adapter, or the motherboard.  The least likely possibility is the motherboard, which is good because it's also the most expensive to replace.

Try a different charger and see if that works.  (Even if the computer runs off of the AC adapter, the charger could still be faulty preventing it from charging the battery.)  If you don't have access to one, you can buy one online from a computer supply website like Newegg.com or you can get a cheap compatible one on eBay (usually for around $10).  If you try a new charger and the battery still won't charge, the next most likely bet is to replace the battery itself.
