Dell N5030 Cooling Fan

i have a problem with my dell inspiron 5030. it runs slow and the fan doesn't seem to be turning. does the fan have to be working all the time or does it start turning only when it gets to a certain temperature? thanks

Hi,

I work for Dell's Social Media Team. The fans will only start when it reaches a certain tempreature, and will not be running all the time. I recommend you update the Bios to be on the safer side. I also recommend you run Diagnostics on your system to check the slow performance. Press the F12 key at the Dell Logo on startup, select Diagnostics and run an extended diagnostics on your system. Reply back with any error codes.

To update the Bios, click on the below link, click on Get Drivers, under Bios download and install the Bios.

I also recommend you clear the Fan vents using a vacuum to get rid of any dust.
