Your computer may not have the video codecs installed to play various formats of video files. Remember that videos from mobile phones are MP4 or 3GP files. These video formats cannot be played on Windows Media Player by default. You will need the codec to paly these kinds of files. You can download free codecs online which is either K-Lite or VLC codecs. These are the download links:
