Instructions:

1
Fill the kitchen sink with warm water, 1 tbsp. blue Dawn dish soap and 1/2 cup baking soda. The soapy water cleans and removes residue, while the baking soda absorbs and removes odor.

2
Put the rubber ring into the soapy water and swish it around for about 10 seconds. Scrub it with a dishrag or brush.

3
Rinse the rubber ring with warm water and allow it to air dry.

4
Sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda over the entire rubber ring and let it sit for about 2 hours.

5
Shake the rubber ring over the trashcan, to remove excess baking soda and rinse it again with warm water. Allow it to air dry.

I do this all the time to my rubber ring and any other heat resistant kitchen tools:) I hope this helps you and happy pressure cooking!
