posted a help wanted ad 4/24/2012 we had been receiving quite a few responses daily in the last 4 days we have not received any

One possible answer is that since your ad is now stale flks have stopped responding. Or this Craigslist statement may be pertinent:

Postings may be removed or omitted from index pages and search results by automated systems, craigslist staff, or community moderation, for reasons including failure to comply with terms of use, posting guidelines, and/or community norms.
