Why Does Phone Rj Male Connector Have A Pin That Disallows Connection To Fem Rj4
RJ-45(?) phone male connector will not insert into Cisco 24 port managed switch RJ-45 female connector. The ip conference station manual states the plug is an RJ-45. The phone male connector has an additional plastic pin molded to the side of the registered jack. I have not seen this configuration until now. I only have experience with RJ-45's & RJ-11's. Also, I need the CallManager softwr component Can anyone advise if I must run CallManager from a specific Cisco router series? Is it possible to run basic conference station 7936 functions from a phone adaper, i.e., SPA100? Obviously, I am new to phone configurations. Current Cisco router is an EC-4500 consumer/residential router. Thank you for your patience with my, what must be to you, basic questions.
