Turn off the car and remove the key from the ignition.
Locate the ECM fuse in the fuse box. The ECM fuse is usually labeled "ECM" or "Engine Control Module".
Use a fuse puller to remove the ECM fuse from the fuse box.
Wait for 10-15 minutes.
Replace the ECM fuse in the fuse box.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position. Do not start the car.
Wait for 10-15 minutes.
Start the car and let it run for a few minutes.
This will reset the ECM and clear any codes that may be stored in the system.
Here are some additional tips for resetting the ECM on a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser:
Make sure that the car is completely turned off before you remove the ECM fuse.
Do not start the car while the ECM fuse is removed.
Wait at least 10-15 minutes after replacing the ECM fuse before you start the car.
If the car does not start after you have reset the ECM, you may need to take it to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis.
