My Daughter's 2006 Pt Cruiser Won't Go Into Gear (manual Transmission). The Gear

The gearshift moves freely even when the clutch isn't pressed down. What could be the problem

Howdy, I will try my best to resolve your concern and your 100% satisfaction is my goal. i am very familiar with this system because i have been working on these vehicles for over 8 years. However, keep in mind, that I require some solid evidence/clues from you in order to provide you a best resolution. All my answers are based solely on the info that you provide me.

1) Are there any codes in the computer?

2) Is the check engine light on?

3) I take it this is an automatic transmission?

4) It goes into gear but does not apply the power to the wheels?
