Battery Icon On Dash Keeps Coming On Intermittenly

I have a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Edition. For the last 1 1/2 years the battery icon on the dash keeps coming on intermittently. I bought a new battery 1 1/2 years ago. I barely got out of the parking lot and the icon came on. Took it back, showed mechanic and he gave me some excuse.I have had the battery, alternator and a few other things checked and all tested ok. Just went dead and bought another new battery. Icon is still coming on. Any ideas????

Faulty or failed alternator: When the battery light comes on, chances are there's not actually a problem with your battery. Usually it's a problem with the system that keeps your battery charged.
