Gas Problem

Someone must have put something down my fill tube before I bought it because after the first gallon or so of gas it takes a long time to fill. I hit the train track hard a week ago and the first tank was like it should be until the next time I put gas in then back to the way it was before. The other thing is I only have the top half of my tank when it gets to around half it drops down to the top of the red line at the bottom and goes for around 40 miles before it dies and won't start until more gas is added.
