My Rpm Gage Bounces Up An Down When Im Driveing,an Mu Car Dont Wan Go Outof 1st

I press the gas pedal and it goes up to the 3,but soon as i let off it drops down an idles on 1rpm an then bounces up an down,i hope my transmissions not goin out
