I Hear Noises When Turning My Sturning Wheel,....what Causes That?

If the noises are coming from the front of the car (tire area), then you probably need a new constant velosity (CV) joint. They will make a thumping noise if they are worn or damaged. The best way to check them is to turn the wheel hard all the way to the left and then hard all the way to the right. If they are defective, they will always make a noise when you do that.
If you hear a squealing sound when you turn the wheel, then your power steering belt (serpentine belt) is loose or the pump is defective. If the steering is smooth and fluid, that is NOT the problem. If the steering feels rough and choppy when you turn the wheel, there's a problem with the power steering pump.
