I Have Transferred Photos From My Canon -a1200 To My Ipad For Ages, But I Cannot

I have no PC..I have forgotten how to move the photos on the film chip. I work on a ship and don't have access to. PC,I did it many times last year, but cannot seem to do it any more. I have the cord that goes from the camera to the IPad. I also cannot seem to remove pictures once they are on the pad..I have deleted them twice and they still appear..about two thousand of them. Tha is..the last person said I cannot move photos like that..but I do then I use pics tic and mail them. Hope this is enough info and you get a lot of points..thanks
