Canon Pixma Mx512 Eventhough I Still Have Ink In My Canon Black Ink Cartridge, I

cannot receive faxes because ink level is low. How can I override this function?

Hello jmorrison,

You can overide this feature by turning off the 'Ink Refill Monitor'. The following steps explain how to do this:

Open the Windows Start menu
Open the "Canon Utilities" folder
Open the "My Printer" folder
Open "My Printer" and click on "Printer Status",
Go to "Options" menu and unselect (turn off) "Enable Status Monitor"

Once completed, your Canon device should not be monitoring ink levels and should perform just as before the low ink issue started.

However, you should replace the ink cartridge as soon as you can. Otherwise, the cartridge will soon run out of ink. As will be noticeable once the documents printed out appear faded more and more, the longer you wait.
