Small Piece Of Paper Stuck

I would like to know how to open up the printer. I was printing a scan with paper that was wrinkled and a small piece tore off and is stuck somewhere. I do not know how to get into the printer to retrieve this piece of paper. And, then I assume I will have to reset it. Since I am working with Post Concussion Syndrome and am an older person, I will need careful instructions. Thank you.
