5100 Error 0n Mg 5320 Inkjet Printer

had paper jam got it out but still; get error 5100 have unplugged and tuened off and on and still get error

Hi. This error is a Carriage Error, there maybe something blocking it from moving. When you say screeching noise, most likely there is something in the path of the carriage travel path....the ink cartridges may not be seated correctly, a paper clip may have fallen inside, or it may have jumped gears or the belt. I would open the printer where you replace the ink. Look for anything that does not belong, paper, paper clip, staples, etc. If you can turn the machine upside down and give it a few light taps on the under side, if anything is lodged in the path it may free it; that is if you can not see anything causing the obstruction. Unplug the printer for 15 FULL minutes, and while plugging back in hold down the stop/clear/reset button. Power up one more time. Run a test, if you do not find anything obtrusive in the machine, there is a good chance it is out of time and will need to be serviced or replaced
