My Black Ink Ran Out, Now Im Trying To Switch It To Color And It Wont Work-help!

The problem is probably that you tried to print with only the color ink cartridge installed. That won't work. If you still have the black ink cartidge, reinstall that (even if empty), and your printer should work for a while. Most ink jets use all the colors + black to print the range of colors in its palette. They don't work well without all of the carrtridges functioning.
