Thread Bunching

My New CE7070PRW got thread bunching when I changed to a zig-zag stich..... How do I release the grip from my project????

here are several things that could cause the thread to keep jamming or bunching up. 1. The upper threading is not correct. Re-thread the machine making sure the thread is coming off the spool from the bottom towards you. If you pull the thread, the top spool must spin as if it is trying to roll away from you.
