Tension Too Loose When Free Machining

I am using the darning foot to do free machining. The top tension is too loose not matter what number I turn it to.

I was having the same problem with my bernette 46 and I found another website that suggested tightening the screw on the metal piece around the plastic bobin (I think its called the bobin casing) It seems to be stitching fine now but it seems to be sewing louder than normal-so that is why I am looking at this website!!!  :) Good  luck!
