Mem-test How Does It Work ???

Every time my pc has too boot the motherboard needs to do the mem-test . So how does it work because the manual is quite vage about it

The memory test is a very usefull activity of your computer while on the bootup process. Basically, this test works as a memory error detection tool. During the bootup process, your computer checks the motherboard's RAM cards if these are working properly before it loads that Windows Operating System.
