Are The Customer Service Reps At Apple Stores Trained Or Do They Just Wing It?

I'm curious to know if the people working in Apple's stores have to go through any training of any sort or do they just have to be tech savvy and pick things up along the way? I often wonder about this when visiting my local Apple store. Cheers.

Depending on their position, they receive training. General sales floor employees need to know the basics of the products they carry, whereas those working at the Genius bar need to know how to troubleshoot/repair/etc.
