Should I Buy A Mac Air Wi-fi Rather Than A General Router For Better Connection?

Should I buy a mac air Wi-Fi rather than a general router for better connection? My current belin router disconnects sparaticlly and cell phone coverage in my area is horrid. not sure if a wi-fi connection would be better.
