Rebooking Costs Refund

I was forced to change my flight from California to Iowa on Dec. 12. My MOM had been diagonsed with another stage 4 cancer and I had to find another home to work with her hospice. It cost me an additional $175 rebooking fee to fly home on the 16th of Dec. My mom passed that day also. I have her death certificate and can supply it to you. With the additional cost of rebooking and additional cost of the ticket from time I orginally booked to when I was able to actually fly, was over $400. Is there anything I can do to help regroup my cost due to the circimstances?
