If after-tax, you can cancel it anytime of the year. With Aflac, typically just the short-term disability and life insurance policies are written on an after-tax basis.
If pre-tax (this is only done if your coverage is via payroll deduction), then you can still cancel anytime during the plan year, but be sure to obtain an authorizaton letter from the human resources department to accompany your cancellation request.
