Can I Cancel My Insurance Before The Year Is Up?

It all depends on whether the policy was written on a pre-tax or after-tax basis. Generally, for short-term disability and life insurance policies, they may be cancelled any time of the plan year, as they are usually written on after-tax basis. For all others, it depends on the tax basis.
