Haha, I just bought the same one and was wrestling with that one for several minutes too. i finally found it... it's right in the middle of the monitor below the Acer label. It will turn blue when it is actually on.
The manual for this monitor is very poor. There are 5 other buttons on the underside of the monitor and there are no labels or any instructions in the manual at all. I have no idea what each one does and will need to experiment to find out.
