Replace Battery?

My battery is 100% charged but error message says to replace battery. As long as my laptop is plugged in to electricity and the battery is fully charged, do I really need to replace it? Because this laptop is old and slow, is it worth buying a new battery or should I just buy a new laptop?

I understand you do not rely on the battery for power, as your laptop is always plugged in. Under these circumstances you don't really need the battery, but you may want one anyway in case of a power blackout or brownout. If as you say however the battery is fully charged it is very likely sufficient as a power backup. I would not buy a new battery. Whether you should replace your laptop depends on facts that I don't have.

Go here to see the battery. At $50+ I wouldn't buy it especially when you can't be certain that the battery you have is bad, but only you can make that decision.
