I purchased a Whirlpool double wall oven 4 years ago. The main board which controls turning the ovens off and on, the clock, timer, etc. stopped working. My Whirlpool technician came out, found the problem....bad board. He called and received a price on a new board, $170.00; but when he tried to order it, Whirlpool no longer makes the board. I was
told to call Whirlpool. They told me the board is on back order to call back in a 7-21 days. So I waited. After two weeks, I called back. Still got the same run around.
So I took the board back to my retailer (I have been buying from them for the past 30 years -- all Whirlpool) The service people there called and they were told it is on back order, then they no longer make the board. They found a board and ordered it, but then found it is on back order as well.
So four weeks into not having an oven, I get a call saying the board will have to be repaired and it is going to cost me $180.00 to have it repaired!!??!! $170 for a new board and $10.00 more for a repair that is only warranted for 30 days. I am furious. A new double oven is over $2,000. When I repurchase appliances, it will NOT be Whirlpool.
