PYLE PQA3100 Amp
I originally bought this amp for home audio use.I had to use this amp in a Club/Venue that does "Live" bands.
I have to power 2 1" horn/15" speakers, (floor wedge design), used as a monitor mix onstage.
The speakers are 8 ohms each paired is a 4 ohm load on the amp.
The speakers are 250W @ 8 ohms paired require 500W @ 4 ohms.
I set the amp in/out to bridged mono to get the required power from the amp for these speakers.
I now must replace the internal fuses on the output circuit board.
FU 1 (fuse 1) is glass with metal end caps (flat) on fuse ends, 1" length (approx.)
Reading stamped fuse information on cap end I see 10A 250v.
FU 2 (fuse 2) is glass with metal end caps (center indentations) on fuse ends, 1" length (approx.)
Reading stamped fuse information on cap end I see 10AL 250v
The circuit board design has fuse 1 supports (Left to Right) FU 1 +V
The circuit board design has fuse 2 supports (Left to Right) FU 2 -V
The internal elements of each fuse is different.
I can't find any service manual for this amp listing the internal fuse replacements or where to get them!
I installed this amp into club use on Aug 3rd 2018.
Today is Sept 6th 2018.
1 month!!!
"Live" music 5 nights per week "Karaoke" music 2 nights per week.
This amp design is no good for heavy demand Club use.
I will have to see if this will be a regular monthly repair replacing the internal fuses.
I'd like to see what a DJ will do to these amps if they are "real club DJ's".
Cheap electronics made in China!!!!.
I suggest that PYLE buy quality electronics and have quality manufacturing (NOT IN CHINA).
Can anyone direct me to the "Correct Fuses" I need for this replacement and where I can get them online or locally in the San Jose Area?
I give this amp 2 stars out of 5 rating!!!!
