If your laptop is stuck in sleep mode, check that you do not have any media inserted such as USB drive or SD card. Remove the power supply and the battery. Then hold down the power button for about 3 minutes to discharge any power stored. Then reconnect all the power supply and battery and reboot. When the unit comes up follow the advice that comes up if it does not come up correctly. If it is OK then check the power settings in control panel to check that it is configured how you want it. If that does not help fix it then raise another question giving the model + item code with serial number if possible.

How do you fix a stuck monitor in sleep mode?

To wake up a computer or the monitor from sleep or hibernate, move the mouse or press any key on the keyboard. If this does not work, press the power button to wake up the computer. NOTE: Monitors will wake up from sleep mode as soon as they detect a video signal from the computer.
