Yes, you can play WWF on PC without Facebook - Load a free "Android emulator" (via Google's Android Development Pack) on your PC, then create an "AVD" (android virtual device). after you install emulator, run it & give your 'virtual device' a name; then do "@emulator droid-name" - that starts the Droid emulator - looks like a droid phone.
After you install emulator, download Zynga's WWF pack & install that to your AVD; then when you run "@emulator droid-name," you'll see thE WWF icon. Google it for the exact steps. Only certain versions of Android emulator & WWF pack work together, but I have been playing now for 6 months, no problems.
This 'virtual droid device' is seen like a droid phone, you don't need an email account or anything to play - just pick a name for your WWF presence, and that's it.
Most problems you will have will be related to proxy or firewall, if at work; at home, you shouldn't have any problems. This is basically the platform you would use if you wanted to develop an app for a Galaxy S phone or Droid Razr phone, etc. It just so happens it runs the apps (like WWF) natively, and so you can play some apps - it just takes a couple of steps to install them.
