Its not necessary but for some websites like zoosk its necessary and i recommend some free dating websites don't put your self in the circle of paid dating sites.

Something's to keep in mind:-

Zoosk is a paysite. It advertises it's free just like so many that are not free. That is their first lie. It is free to join and create a profile but once you want to do anything like contact anyone or read and respond to messages, that's when they try to hit you with your credit card information. All of the dating sites are full of scammers and fake profiles. From observation, it doesn't look like the people in charge of these sites care at all, they do not seem to be doing anything about the problem and when you contact them, they send you an automated message, they don't answer any of your questions or concerns. It looks to me like they don't even read any of the complaints. Meet me, Scout and flurv are all connected and are the worst of the worst from what I've seen so far. They are totally free, that is a plus ,however they are overrun with scammers to the point it's impossible to even have a conversation with anyone real when you're constantly bombarded with scammers. I ended up leaving all of those sites. POF is getting more and more scammers every day and I don't think anything is being done about the problem on that site either. Online dating cam is going to come to an end if something isn't done about all of these scammers and fake profiles. I have already left five of the dating sites. Right now I'm down to POF and OkCupid. Another big problem is most people do not fill out their profiles, which automatically disqualifies them. if you're not willing to spend a few minutes on your profile and a few minutes reading someone's profile before you contact someone then clearly these people are not genuine, are not looking for anything ,which means they are a waste of everybody's time. if a person is not willing to spend a few minutes on their profile and a few minutes reading someone's profile before they contact them, what makes you think they are going to put any effort into any form of relationship? This is really just common sense.
